The Way to Play Adventure Guide is a packet of simple and entertaining play activities for you to use at the Museum. All children visiting the museum must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. For safety sake, we remind you that all adult visitors must supervise the children in their party.
Be respectful of other parents, caregivers and children. We are all learning. Pretend City is a place for empathy, not judgement.
Be present with your children. Your attention and engagement are meaningful for your children and help create a safe space for all. Pretend City is a nonprofit organization. Items being taken from the museum, lost, or damaged are a financial burden for us. Please leave everything here at Pretend City and take care of our exhibits so everyone can benefit.
Pretend City allows full access to guide dogs and service animals under ADA requirements. Many of our young visitors love four-legged friends and may want to pet service animals without understanding they are on the job. While it is not legally required to use an identification leash or vest, we strongly encourage visitors with service animals to use them. Keep in mind that this is a nut-free facility. And the cash registers. But for some reason, kids always gravitated towards ringing the bells and the little carts. You can even dress as a crew member here. All of the community events happen in the center of the Museum at Orange Plaza. Older children can earn a paycheck by stamping their time card at various locations and returning to the ATM for pay.
Sometimes the bank drive-thru is staffed by volunteers. The Library is another quiet spot when the rest of the museum gets overwhelming. I always encourage you to take your child to new places and maybe provide them with a few simple play props.

The ages of the kids ranged from 1 to It was our first time here and we couldn't have been more pleased. The personal service provided to us for the private party room was just amazing; the assistants were friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy we were there.
We were even able to store our leftover perishable food in the party room refrigerator afterwards while we turned everyone loose in the museum, since there were no other parties scheduled there for the rest of the day. The parents had almost as good a time as the kids! There are so many activities for the children, from being a cashier or customer at Trader Joe's, to practicing medicine or dentistry in private offices, to farming or fishing, to running a call center or driving a firetruck, etc.

This place is neat. It's a little city for the kids to use their imagination. They have a pretend play grocery store, bank, beach, restaurant, art studio, a farm and many other hands on activities for your kids to do. Julia Y Diamond Bar 15 contributions. In each building there were costumes and props for the kids to use. There are 2 separate baby areas for those still crawling and barely walking to play safely and many bathrooms located around the building. Thank you so much for your positive review.
